The Watch List: On the Road to Indiana

The Celtics are rolling again after a few games at home. Up next is a tough road test in Indiana against the Pacers. Even without their star player, Victor Oladipo, the Pacers can be a tough matchup for Boston. Here is who I believe the Celtics have to watch for tonight against the Pacers.

Malcolm Brogdon– I love Malcolm Brogdon. I really wish the Celtics could make a move for him because he is just as good as Smart on the defensive end, with a way better jump shot. He averages 19 points a game, Brogdon does everything at an above average level. He is an elite defender with a beautiful three point shot. He is leading this Pacers team to the best of his abilities and he is a fun player to watch. Smart or Kemba will have to stay up on him on defense and I can’t wait to watch him and Kemba go at it all night. I can’t really say anything bad about him because I am a huge fan of him.

Domantas Sabonis– Sabonis is a monster. He is the better of the two big men they have in Indiana. He can spread the floor and is a terrifying rebounder on both ends of the floor. He loves to post up and work the pick and roll. Everything you want in a big man this man does well. Sabonis will be a matchup nightmare no matter who the C’s have on him. He is just a really good player who once again, I can’t say anything bad about.

Honorable Mention

Myles Turner– Turner is the other big on the Pacers, just not as good as Sabonis in my opinion. He is a good player and someone to watch as the trade deadline approaches because his name has been with the Celtics since last season. Very lengthy, with the ability to stretch the floor he can be a force, but I don’t see him reach for the ceiling and play to his potential. Maybe he could have a breakout performances against us, to try to convince Ainge to trade for him. Who Knows? He is a good player on this team though who we have to watch for.
